FOLLOW THE OFFICIAL ROUTES

Find the right county resource for your next question.

This walkthrough checks public routes without opening a homeowner’s records or submitting a request. Choose the task you need to complete, then use the county’s own service.

1. Start with permit and parcel activity

Open the county public portal. Choose Parcel Search to look for parcel information, or My Portal for your applications and inspection results. Follow the county’s account directions when needed; an account view is not a guarantee that every historical septic drawing is online.

Open SmartGov: parcel search and your permit activity

2. Prepare a specific records request

First check documents already available through the county. For records you cannot locate, open its public-records instructions and follow the linked Public Records Portal. Keep your parcel identifier, approximate dates and known permit number ready to provide directly to the county.

A starting request you can adapt: Please help me locate the septic permit, approved design, as-built or record drawing, and available final-inspection records for my parcel. I can provide the parcel identifier and relevant dates directly.

3. Ask the county about the proposed work

Use the onsite sewage page’s current forms and checklist. For a question about which steps apply to a repair, contact Environmental Health at (509) 962-7515 or environmentalhealth@co.kittitas.wa.us. State the proposed work rather than assuming a general repair label establishes its permit path.

4. Request a current installer and pumper list

The onsite sewage page directs current-list requests to publichealth@co.kittitas.wa.us. This is a different inbox from Environmental Health’s program contact. Ask the business separately about the proposed drainfield work, territory and availability; a list entry does not establish those details.

5. Keep a useful record of the response

Save the date, the official link used, the record received and the questions still unanswered. A blank county form is not a drawing of your property, and an unavailable search result alone does not explain permit history. Bring actual records to the professional’s evaluation.

Prepare for the evaluation · Compare the resulting proposals
